HoW to Use CERENIA

CERENIA® (maropitant citrate) is the first and only FDA-approved anti-vomiting medication for dogs and cats.* It safely and effectively treats vomiting from multiple causes and prevents vomiting due to motion sickness (from car, boat, plane or other travel) in dogs.

For dogs and cats, CERENIA is available as an injectable formulation and will be administered to your pet at your veterinarian’s practice.

For dogs only, CERENIA is also available as a tablet formulation you can give your pup at home once daily.

Motion Sickness

How to Administer CERENIA Tablets for Motion Sickness

Follow these simple steps and any additional instructions from your veterinarian.

  • Give your dog CERENIA with a small amount of food 2 hours before traveling.
  • You may give your dog CERENIA once a day for up to 2 days in a row.

Acute Vomiting

How to Administer CERENIA Tablets for Acute Vomiting

  • Puppies 2–7 months of age can be given CERENIA daily for up to 5 days.
  • Dogs older than 7 months can be given CERENIA daily until the vomiting has resolved.
